アメリカ海兵隊の組織の特徴を一言で言うと「超現場主義」だ。

海兵隊は軍隊の中で最も早く戦地に乗り込む。状況が読めない、状況が刻々と変化する、そう
いった中で複雑にして困難な任務を遂行する。アメリカ海兵隊組織のミッションとは「どのよう状況、変化のもとにあっても確実に成果を挙げること」である。そこにはそのための組織管理の手法が存在する。

1.仕事の目的は指示するが、やり方は支持せず部下に任せる
2.現場で判断できる権限を与える
3.計画は単純にし、変更しやすくするなどだ。

めまぐるしい状況変化に対応するために求められるスピードと柔軟性を重視した組織づくり、現場が「考えて」、上からの指示・命令を待つことなく現場で「動く」組織だ。
